Once again Mrs Lawlee and the pupils of sixth class led the children in a smashing sing song. New songs are added each year and  the children sing with great gusto. The children love the opportunity to sing together and to examine each of the classes creative costumes.

Sixth Class displayed their creativity with their fabulous Halloween Costumes.

Classes enjoyed a Halloween Disco in the school hall on Friday afternoon. Infants are happy to show off their Halloween Art Creations.

Pupils from Tarbert NS were honoured to be invited to the Kerry Launch of John Coolahan’s most recent book ‘Towards The Era Of Life Long Learning’ and the Inauguration of his Education Lecture Series in Tralee Education Centre on October 5^th, 2017. To mark the event the children took part in a tree planting ceremony in his honour. The Irish Tree Trail who supplied the tree are delighted as the planting of the tree will be counted as one of their million trees planted with school children by 2020.
Director of the Tralee Education Centre Caitríona Culloty thanked the children for their involvement saying “This is such a momentous occasion for us that John would honour the Centre in this way so we are deeply grateful that we can include his family and children from his old alma mater.” A great evening was had by all.

Tarbert NS would like to thank John also for the gift of his book ‘Towards a Memoir’ which reflects on his youth in Tarbert and his Fifty-eight year career in Education and the Arts. We are proud of our distinguished and humble past pupil! Míle buíochas!

Mr. O Hanlon’s and Mrs. Lawlee’s sixth class were focusing on road safety this week and produced some lovely posters containing important safety messages. They will be entered in the Kerry County Council Calendar Competition. If we have a winner their poster will appear in next year’s calendar. Go n’éirí libh!

Second Class worked hard with Ms. Kennelly building roller-coasters with loops. They had great fun experimenting with loop size and position of the loop on the roller-coaster.

Amanda and Karen have been busy helping us get ready for Halloween. Mrs Lawlee is teaching us wonderful songs . We are planning our costumes for next Friday. We are all very excited.
